After a 2 year hiatus (laziness), I have decided to get off my fat ass and run again.

The reasons:
I can't stand my physical self.
I avoid going to the beach or pool parties.
I find myself frequenlty running out of breath.
I use to fit in a medium shirt, now I wear a double XL! Holy crap!!!

Plus, to top it off, I'm getting married in April of 2009. It's going to be a destination wedding, located in the Philippines. And yes I am of filipino desent. Gotta look good for the pictures. And am worried about all the comments that family members might make about my recent physical appearance. The last time they saw me, I was at the peak of my running abilities. I was no Kenyan, but I could run 6 miles with ease. In fact, a mile was considered a warm up to me. And oh yes, filipino aunts and uncles can be brutally honest. Forget being pc, if they think you've gained a little weight, they will say "you got FAT..." and just walk away. Not even for a second will they think they said anything wrong. "Bah!!! Screw you auntie", I thought to myself, wishing I could throw my lumpia and bowl of pansit at her.

So now I took it upon myself to do something about it. My ultimate goal for 2009 is to run the San Jose Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon in October. And to run it faster than last time, which was an hour and 54 mins.
